14. EXT. STREET CORNER – NIGHT
It is after work and FRANKIE, now dressed in a suit, is waiting at a news stand. KAY passes by carrying an armload of costumes. He runs after her.
FRANKIE
I can’t offer you a front table at the Waldorf but I’ll show you the big town. We’ll have Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island too.
KAY
How very lyrical. Sidney told Mr. Kleinmetz what you did, and I had all I could do to keep him from firing you.
FRANKIE
Why did you bother?
KAY
Look, Frankie, I think it is best we don’t see each other tonight. Besides I have to get these costumes down to the theater.
FRANKIE
The theater?
KAY
Frankie, I’ll be late. These are my new designs for the show.
She attempts to walk away but he stops her.
KAY
Look Frankie, please. These dresses are getting heavy.
FRANKIE
I’ll carry them for you.
KAY
I said No! And we’re not going out together tonight.
He grabs the costumes and continues walking in her original direction.
FRANKIE
Which subway? IRT or BMT?
She rolls her eyes, but continues to walk with him toward the theatre.
